The indoor Ninja Obstacle Course

Each school has an indoor obstacle course modelled on the ones from American Ninja Warrior, and it is used every day: in the after-school program and at every camp. It is not a drop-in program; the way to use it is to enrol in one of those.

Kids work through it at their own pace in an open-floor format, with staff spotting.

What is on the course

Obstacles vary by school. Across the three:

  • Warped wall, cheese wall, spider wall
  • Rock climbing wall, rope climb, rope swing, cargo net
  • Pegboard, monkey bars, ring travel, flying squirrel
  • Lilypad balance, ninja run, beast ball, bag hang

What it does

Grip strength, core strength, balance and coordination, mostly, and a reason to keep trying something they could not do last week. Sessions are supervised, on mats, with age-appropriate obstacles.
