About Little Dragons

Little Dragons is a 30-minute class for ages 4 to 6. The program builds physical literacy through the ABCs: agility, balance and coordination.

When students enter the practice room they bow to their instructor and classmates, as a sign they are ready to train. Listening and paying attention are part of every class, and the team works to keep young children interested from start to finish.

What a 4-year-old actually learns

How to kick, block and punch, and how to land on the floor without hurting themselves or others. Some activities are done in pairs and groups, and the children are reminded to help a classmate who falls. The instructors put a heavy emphasis on using these skills only for self-defence.

Where and when

Little Dragons runs Monday to Thursday at 5:15 PM at all three schools. Milton adds Friday at 5:45 PM and Saturday at 9:30 AM. At Burlington, the Tuesday 5:15 PM class and a Friday 5:45 PM class are Little Dragons Ninjas.

When they move up

Around age 7, depending on the child, Little Dragons move into the children’s classes.
